In Matthew 5, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth and the light of the world, reminding us that our lives are meant to preserve, illuminate, and point others to him. This season on Savory Salt, we'll walk through the Old Testament, one verse and one thought each day. Perhaps these moments will add greater savor and brighter light to our lives as we seek to truly live as Savory Salt.

Hello, my friends. It's a new day with new opportunities. Choose ye this day whom you will serve.

Is it even remotely possible that Isaiah could see our day and even see us? That's exactly what we believe when we talk about prophets and prophesying. Seers, those who can see.

Sometimes it's about just seeing things the Lord wants us to see, and other times prophets, when they prophesy or see, are explaining future events. Isaiah is known for being one who didn't just prophesy to his people and their current day solutions, but also prophesied to those in our day as well. What we call the latter days.

Today, our verse for today is going to be one very commonly referenced here in the Utah region, but one that I'd like to share to our international audience as well. Isaiah chapter 2, verse 2 says this: "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it." Now, this can absolutely be a one-time event type prophecy and could be an ongoing type prophecy. It's certainly one that was referenced in Utah's perspective back even to the 2002 Olympic Games as part of a prophecy where nations came to the Olympic Games.

Utah is going to host the Olympics again in the future. I want to give some more insight to it. First of all, the term 'Utah,' it's quite fascinating to kind of think of in and of itself.

Utah comes from a Native American word. Typically, it's related to the Apaches that named it. 'Utah' translated as 'those who live higher up in the mountains.' So did you catch that context there? The mountains of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains.

Very similar to the name the Apaches gave to this region, Utah. Now when it comes to watching Utah change throughout my life, I've been here most of my life. I've had my time with my mission and then six years where I lived in Houston, Texas as well.

The rest of the time has been here. I watched Utah go from just kind of this smaller metropolis place to a place where Utah regularly has leaders, kings, presidents visit. They come downtown.

They look at the Humanitarian Center of the Church. They look at the Bishop's Storehouse. They attend things like General Conference.

These leaders of the world come to see what the Church is doing to bring light and help to other nations. It's truly humbling to watch my daughter as she's currently serving, to go to the Humanitarian Center and come home with these stories of the quantities that they are doing in terms of clothing, towels, hygiene kits every day to send out to parts of the world. My friends, it's humbling to think that a prophet from several thousand years ago looked forward to our day and saw us.

And I don't just mean us in Utah. I mean saw us, the Latter-day Saints, doing all that we can in our individual places to build Zion. Thank you for watching.

Be able to see the power when it comes. Now, I've got one more piece to share with you. I added a link in here that will just be here as long as this goes.

It is time for the Salt Lake Temple to reopen. It has been closed for years, and the open house activities are starting now, not for several months from this recording. It will be between April and October of 2027.

If you have any possibility of being able to come and participate in the Salt Lake Temple reopening, I would encourage you to do so. I have the link here so that you can come to this and regularly see an opportunity for tickets, an opportunity to attend, an opportunity to help serve, to be part of this incredible thing, because that is the other part of Isaiah chapter 2, verse 2: 'That the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and all nations shall flow into it.' I think we are watching prophecy be fulfilled, as just recently the Church released a million tickets to be able to have people come through the temple, and they were gone in under 24 hours. My friends, what an amazing time to be alive and witness the hand of the Lord in our lives every day.

Let's be part of it together. That's all for today, my friends. You and I have come here for such a time as this.

Step forward in faith, and let's be Savory Salt. We will be here tomorrow, and we hope
